Free monthly Santa Cruz Garden Exchange is from 8-9 a.m. Saturday in the Santa Cruz Live Oak Grange parking lot, 1900 17th Ave. Gardeners are encouraged to bring their extra volunteers, cuttings, seeds, bulbs, succulents, houseplants, garden-related items, to trade within our garden community. Let’s Salsa…& Chips Garden Workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday at Rancho Cielo, 710 Old Stage Road, Salinas. Participants will learn basic gardening skills from Master Gardener, Julie Lorenzen, and how to grow a little salsa garden – tomatoes, jalapeno, onion and cilantro. The workshop will end with some fresh salsa and chips. Event is open to everyone, families are welcome, and bring a friend. Guided Harvest Walk from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at Earthbound Farm Stand at 7250 Carmel Valley Road, Carmel-by-the-Sea. Harvest a variety of summer vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Arrive promptly at 10 a.m. in the covered pavilion. Cost is $45 per person. Contact the organizer to request a refund. Looking for a peaceful place to go apple picking? Come spend some time at Luz Del Valle Farm 1875 Hames Road, Aptos. Multiple dates through Oct. 28 are available including Saturday and Sunday. Visit the peaceful nature haven and pick all the apples you can in one hour. Tickets are $12 per person and Includes 1 pound of apples per person. Children under 12 are free. Marci Huston presents Sugar Skull Succulent Planting from noon to 9 p.m. Sept. 30 at The Garden Shoppe, 364 7th St., Hollister. Wind down with your favorite adult beverage after work. We will have drink specials to help you relax and enjoy this very simple planting event. The large skulls are $48 and include three succulents, and the small skull is $22 and includes one succulent. Both include the moss and rocks. Grab your workmates for the holiday happy hour and come on down! We do not allow outside beverages on the property at any time. We do have a very large selection of wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks. Please feel free to bring your own snacks or we can make you an amazing charcuterie. Join us this fall to take a walk through an Illuminated Bamboo Enchanted Forest presented by Bamboo Giant Nursery and Gardens located at 5601 Freedom Blvd., Aptos. This evening walk is perfect for families and individuals of all ages. Similar to the classic corn maze, each participant will receive a map of the grounds and an event card to fill out with rubber ink stamps from stations hidden away within the bamboo forest. Can you find them all? Tickets will only be sold online.

Due to social distancing practices, we will be limiting how many groups can participate at a given time. We will call the ticket purchaser to schedule your group for a specific time slot on your selected date. Ages 13+ (Adults): $20, Ages 2-12 (Children): $12.50, Seniors 65+ and Active Duty Military (ID required): $15,Group options are available. See ticket sales for pricing.
